Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy (Richland)

OVERVIEW

Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy is one of the Tri-Cities’ most established gymnastics programs, founded in 1986 and operating from its current home on Fowler Street in Richland, Washington since 1998. A USAG member club with a long history of competitive success and community service, MCGA offers recreational and competitive gymnastics for children from preschool age through the highest competitive levels, along with an extensive pro shop, birthday parties, and seasonal camps.

MCGA is currently in the process of expansion, having reached full capacity at its Richland location and planning a second Tri-Cities facility to serve the growing demand for quality gymnastics programming in the region. Families who have trained at MCGA for years describe it as a true gymnastics home, one where coaches genuinely know and invest in each athlete’s development across the full arc of their gymnastics career.

THE GYM

Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy operates at 1523 Fowler Street in Richland, Washington, in a large, well-equipped gymnastics facility that has undergone several remodels, renovations, and makeovers since its relocation to Fowler Street in 1998. The facility features full gymnastics apparatus for all women’s and men’s events, trampolines, tumble tracks, and foam pits, along with dedicated areas for Tumbleroos Preschool Gymnastics, recreational classes, and competitive team training.

The MCGA Pro Shop is a fully stocked retail area offering Destira leotards, gymnastics shorts, bags, doll leos, MCGA logo merchandise, gymnastics gifts, hair accessories, and quick snacks. A large parent viewing area with a television screen keeps families informed of upcoming events and gym news. MCGA hosts its own gymnastics meet, MCG Classic, at the Three Rivers Convention Center each year, bringing teams from across the Pacific Northwest to the Tri-Cities for a major competitive event.

Tumbleroos Preschool Gymnastics

Tumbleroos is MCGA’s dedicated preschool gymnastics program for young children, featuring a specially designed area with age-appropriate apparatus and a progressive curriculum that develops motor skills, coordination, and a love of physical activity in a nurturing and fun environment.

Recreational Gymnastics

MCGA offers a comprehensive progression of recreational gymnastics classes for girls and boys across all skill levels. Classes are structured to build technique and strength progressively across all gymnastics events, with coach-evaluated placements guiding each student’s advancement through the program.

Competitive Team

MCGA’s competitive team has a long history of success at the state, regional, and national levels. The program develops athletes through all USAG Junior Olympic levels and hosts the annual MCG Classic meet, a major Tri-Cities gymnastics event. As MCGA has reached full capacity at its current location, the gym is developing plans for a second facility to continue serving the growing gymnastics community in the Tri-Cities region.
