OVERVIEW
Metro Gymnastics Center is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most established and beloved gymnastics programs, serving Tigard, Oregon and the surrounding southwest Portland communities since its founding in March 1990. What began with approximately 60 students in an 11,000 square foot facility has grown over more than three decades into a 21,000 square foot gymnastics destination serving more than 1,100 students a testament to Metro’s enduring commitment to developing well-rounded young people through the sport of gymnastics.
Metro Gymnastics Center’s philosophy is rooted in teaching life skills in a positive atmosphere. The coaching staff is dedicated to developing a sense of self-worth, a joy of learning, and an active and healthy lifestyle in every child who participates whether they are pursuing competitive gymnastics at the highest levels or simply exploring the sport for the first time as a toddler. Metro also houses Metro Dance Academy on-site, making it one of the most comprehensive youth movement arts destinations in the Portland metro area.
THE GYM
Metro Gymnastics Center operates at 18084 SW Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard, Oregon, in a 21,000 square foot facility that has grown from its original size to accommodate Metro’s expanding student body over more than 35 years of operation. The gym features state-of-the-art gymnastics apparatus, dedicated spaces for preschool and recreational classes, competitive team training areas, and a co-located dance studio through Metro Dance Academy.
Metro has received recognition as a Gold Medal Children’s Activity Center through the Character Counts! program, reflecting the gym’s commitment to character development and values-based athletics education. Every coach and staff member at Metro is dedicated to ensuring that each child’s experience is emotionally and physically safe, fun, and genuinely meaningful beyond the gymnasium.
PROGRAMS AT THE GYM
Preschool and Recreational Gymnastics
Metro offers gymnastics classes for children starting at 18 months through teen age levels, with a progressive recreational curriculum that develops foundational gymnastics skills, strength, flexibility, and confidence in a fun and nurturing class environment. Preschool and after-school programming is also available for families seeking structured activity options throughout the school year.
Classes run Monday through Saturday. Monday: 10:30 AM to 6:15 PM. Tuesday through Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:15 PM. Friday: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. To enroll or inquire about current class availability, please call (503) 620-8939 or email info@metrogymnastics.com.

Boys and Girls Competitive Team
Metro Gymnastics Center fields both boys and girls competitive gymnastics teams as a USAG member club, providing southwest Portland and Tigard athletes with the opportunity to train and compete at the regional, state, and national levels. The competitive program reflects Metro’s 35-year legacy of developing high-caliber athletes alongside strong character and personal confidence.
Metro Dance Academy, Birthday Parties, and Events
Metro Dance Academy operates co-located within the Metro Gymnastics Center facility, offering dance classes under the direction of Studio Director Stephanie Morris. In addition to gymnastics and dance classes, Metro offers birthday parties, Parents Night Out, Play Days, Family Nights, Summer Camps, Mini-Nationals, and monthly Skills Clinics making Metro one of the most comprehensive youth activity destinations in the Tigard and southwest Portland area.
