808 Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

808 Gymnastics is Maui’s premier competitive and recreational gymnastics facility, located at 65 West Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului — the commercial and transportation heart of Maui. Founded and owned by Kim Brown, 808 Gymnastics serves students from toddler through teen years with a full range of programming including Mommy and Me, preschool gymnastics, recreational classes for girls and boys, tumbling, and a USAG competitive team. Named for Hawaii’s iconic area code, 808 Gymnastics carries a distinctly local identity as Maui’s gymnastics home, providing an island community that would otherwise have no gymnastics access with a complete, professional program rooted in the USAG Junior Olympic framework.

808 Gymnastics is a USAG member club and competes at the Hawaii state level and in Region 2, bringing Maui athletes into the same competitive community as their Oahu and Big Island counterparts. The gym also offers school field trip programs and open gym sessions, making it a community hub for youth physical activity well beyond the regular class schedule.

THE GYM

The West Kaahumanu Avenue facility in central Kahului provides convenient access for families across Maui, from the busy urban core of Kahului and Wailuku to the communities of Kihei, Paia, Makawao, and beyond. As the only dedicated gymnastics facility on Maui, 808 Gymnastics serves a geographic community of approximately 167,000 people — making it one of the most important single-gym programs in the entire USAG Region 2 network.

PROGRAMS

Mommy and Me and Preschool Gymnastics

The Mommy and Me class for children ages 2 to 3 provides parent-accompanied gymnastics exploration, with the parent on the floor to facilitate bonding and learning. Preschool classes serve children developmentally ready for instructor-led group classes, building foundational coordination, motor skills, and gymnastics awareness in a safe, energetic environment.

Recreational Gymnastics (Girls and Boys)

Girls’ and boys’ recreational classes introduce students to their respective gymnastics events at the foundational level, progressing through skill tiers with an emphasis on proper technique, progressive skill development, and an energetic, fun class atmosphere. Open Gym sessions are available for both preschool ages and school-age students, providing additional supervised practice time outside of class.

Competitive Team

808 Gymnastics fields a USAG competitive team that competes at Hawaii state meets and in Region 2 events, representing Maui in the broader Hawaii gymnastics community and giving Maui athletes the same competitive opportunities available to their Oahu and Big Island peers.

Monday through Friday: 2:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
