Liberty Gymnastics Training Center

OVERVIEW

Liberty Gymnastics Training Center was born in August 2005 when twenty-one families, four coaches, and their gymnasts came together with a shared vision: to create a gymnastics center grounded in a strong sense of family, a unique coaching philosophy, and the collective dedication of every member of the community. Two decades later, Liberty operates from its two-building campus at 2330 Bates Avenue in Concord, offering a 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that families across the East Bay describe as one of the finest in the region.

Led by owner Terri Nuno, Liberty serves children from crawling age through adults with preschool gymnastics, recreational classes, boys’ and girls’ competitive teams, birthday parties, field trips, camps, and special events. The gym’s culture of family, consistency, and coach development has made it a landmark program in Contra Costa County for more than 20 years.

THE GYM

The Bates Avenue campus includes Building A, which houses preschool, boys’ recreational, and girls’ recreational gymnastics, and Building B, which supports the competitive team programs. The preschool gym features padded, walled-in spaces with tot-sized equipment including bars, rings, and parallel bars, along with a 30-foot Tumbl Trak. A large parent viewing mezzanine with a monitor, coffee station, and complimentary WiFi is available in Building A. Liberty uses USA Gymnastics-approved equipment and maintains a clean, bright, and cheerful environment throughout both buildings.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Crawler Classes

Gymnastics classes begin at crawling age, making Liberty one of the few East Bay gyms to serve the very youngest children in a structured gymnastics environment. Classes progress through the preschool years with age-appropriate skill building and a nurturing coaching approach.

Recreational and Boys Gymnastics

Girls’ and boys’ recreational classes are available for ages 6 through adult at multiple skill levels. The boys’ program covers the six men’s Olympic events on a weekly schedule, providing the broader East Bay community with consistent access to quality men’s gymnastics instruction.

Competitive Teams

Liberty fields both girls’ and boys’ competitive teams in the NorCal circuit. Athletes progress from recreational classes into the competitive program through an evaluation process with coaching staff. Private lessons, field trips, and seasonal camps round out the gym’s comprehensive offering.
