Novato Gymnastics Center

OVERVIEW

The Novato Gymnastics Center is a city-owned and operated gymnastics facility managed by the City of Novato’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department. Located in downtown Novato at 950 Seventh Street, the center has been serving the community since 1990 and has grown into one of the most respected gymnastics programs in the entire Bay Area. The Novato Gymnastics Center has been recognized multiple times by the Pacific Sun as the Best Children’s Indoor Sports Center in Marin County.

Approximately 900 participants visit the center every week, making it one of the busiest gymnastics programs in Northern California. The center is home to the Novato Gymnastics Team, which competes in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program at the regional and state level.

THE GYM

The Novato Gymnastics Center occupies a 10,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in a converted former hardware store in downtown Novato. The facility includes full Olympic apparatus for both women’s and men’s artistic gymnastics, making it one of the most completely equipped training centers in the Bay Area. The gym has convenient access from Highway 101 and is centrally located near businesses throughout Novato.

All coaching staff are USA Gymnastics-certified, and the Novato Gymnastics Team is led by Recreation Supervisor Perry Siu, a longtime USAG member who oversees the competitive Junior Olympic program. The city has maintained this program for over three decades, reflecting a deep community commitment to accessible, high-quality gymnastics instruction.

PROGRAMS

Recreational Classes

The center offers gymnastics classes for children starting at 12 months, with classes progressing through preschool, recreational, and advanced recreational levels. Programs are designed to build strength, coordination, and foundational gymnastics skills at every age and ability level. The curriculum emphasizes safety, technique, and fun in a bright and welcoming environment.

Competitive Team

The Novato Gymnastics Team competes in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program for female gymnasts who demonstrate higher-level skills, discipline, and commitment. The team trains at the center’s main facility and has a strong track record at NorCal regional competitions. The center also hosts the annual Novato Classic invitational meet.
