OVERVIEW

SCEGA Gymnastics — Southern California Elite Gymnastics Academy — has been one of Southern California’s most decorated competitive gymnastics programs since its founding in 1989. Located at 27532 Commerce Center Drive in Temecula, the 18,000-square-foot flagship facility serves girls and boys ages 16 months through 18 years with preschool gymnastics, recreational classes, tumbling, and a nationally recognized competitive team program. SCEGA is home to over 50 NCAA athletes, Junior Olympic team members, national team members, and a World Championship Team member, and has produced 27 gymnasts who received full athletic scholarships to universities across the United States.

In 2024, SCEGA’s optional girls program won first place at SoCal State Championships at Levels 7, 8, 9, and 10 — the first time SCEGA had swept the optional program championship since 1997. That same season, SCEGA’s Level 6 team was named Region 1 Club of the Year by USA Gymnastics — an honor given to the top clubs in SoCal, NorCal, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii. The gym also earned the SoCal Optional Program of the Year award, cementing its status as one of the preeminent gymnastics programs in the Western United States. SCEGA operates a second location in French Valley (Winchester).

THE GYM

The 18,000-square-foot Commerce Center Drive facility is state-of-the-art, equipped with the latest gymnastics apparatus for all levels from toddlers through the competitive team. A pro shop on site carries gymnastics apparel, snacks, and drinks. Multiple viewing rooms and bleachers provide parents with clear sightlines throughout every class and practice session. SCEGA hosts the annual Cal Classic invitational meet, and the program’s competitive reach extends from regional SoCal events to Western Championships, National Championships, and beyond.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Recreational Classes

The preschool movement education program for ages 16 months and up emphasizes coordination, spatial awareness, and fun in a co-ed class format. Girls’ and boys’ recreational programs provide progressive, structured gymnastics instruction through multiple levels, with each level carrying a specific curriculum of skills across all Olympic events. Tumbling classes cover floor skills from beginner handstands through advanced back handsprings and beyond.

Invitational and Pre-Team Programs

The Invitational program serves gymnasts who progress through the curriculum at a faster pace, offered by coach recommendation. Several Pre-Team levels provide a structured bridge between the recreational program and the competitive team, ensuring athletes are well-prepared before beginning their competitive careers.

Competitive Team

SCEGA’s competitive program has produced state champions, regional champions, national champions, Olympic Trials qualifiers, and a World Championship Team member, alongside 27 full NCAA scholarship athletes. The optional program was named SoCal Optional Program of the Year, and the Level 6 team earned Region 1 Club of the Year honors in 2024.
