South Coast Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

South Coast Gymnastics in Irvine is a USA Gymnastics certified facility located at 17850 Sky Park Circle, near John Wayne Airport in the heart of Orange County. The gym is owned and operated by Xiaoping Li — a former World Champion and Olympian — and Jia Wen, a former Chinese National Team Member, bringing an exceptionally rare depth of elite competitive experience to both the coaching staff and program philosophy at every level. South Coast Gymnastics trains boys and girls for competitive gymnastics under the USA Gymnastics program, with a philosophy designed to help athletes excel while maintaining a healthy balance of gymnastics, education, and family. Founded in 2014, the gym has built a devoted community of families who describe it as a second home where children build lifelong friendships alongside world-class skills.

South Coast Gymnastics is a SoCal member club. The competitive team has produced high-level athletes including gymnasts who have gone on to Division I NCAA programs after years of training at the gym. In addition to the competitive program, a fully staffed academy program provides a high-quality recreational track for students who want to enjoy gymnastics without the competitive commitment.

THE GYM

The Sky Park Circle facility provides a focused gymnastics training environment equipped for the full range of men’s and women’s gymnastics events. The coaching staff, led by co-owners Xiaoping Li and Jia Wen, brings firsthand knowledge of international elite gymnastics to the daily instruction of every athlete in the program. Parents who have trained their children at South Coast consistently describe the team environment as family-oriented and the coaching approach as one that builds children up rather than burning them out — a culture that reflects its founders’ experience at the highest levels of the sport.

PROGRAMS

Academy (Recreational) Program

The Academy program provides boys and girls gymnastics instruction at all levels in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Classes cover all major gymnastics events with an emphasis on fundamentals, technique, and fun, guided by the same coaching expertise that runs one of SoCal’s most respected competitive programs.

Competitive Team

South Coast Gymnastics maintains a demanding and competitive girls’ and boys’ team program that has produced athletes competing at the highest levels of SoCal gymnastics and earning Division I NCAA scholarships. Coaches Xiaoping Li and Jia Wen provide rare elite-level technical guidance, and the team program is characterized by the same healthy, family-centered culture that permeates the entire gym.

Camps and Special Events

Summer camps are offered annually with details available via the parent portal on the gym’s website. Birthday parties are available on Sundays, providing an exciting gymnastics-themed celebration option for families throughout Orange County.

Saturday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
