OVERVIEW

Red River Valley Athletics is located at 1602 32nd Avenue South in Grand Forks, a non-profit gymnastics, cheer, tumbling, and ninja organization with roots stretching back to 1988 when Red River Valley Gymnastics first joined the United States Gymnastics Federation as an official member club. The organization consolidated with Dakota Gold Gymnastics in 1993 and moved to its current 32nd Avenue facility — which the board purchased outright from the Grand Forks Park District in 2012 — cementing its community ownership model. A 2018 rebranding to Red River Valley Athletics reflected the expansion of programming beyond traditional gymnastics to include All Star and recreational cheer (added in 2012) and Ninja Warriors classes (added in 2017). The Grand Forks School Board has sanctioned RRVA to represent Grand Forks Schools at North Dakota High School competitions since 1989, giving the program a dual role as both a community club and the official training home for Grand Forks’ high school gymnastics teams.

The 26,000-square-foot facility at 1602 32nd Avenue South is one of the largest dedicated gymnastics and athletics centers in North Dakota, featuring a regulation competition gymnastics floor, a cheer floor, two in-ground trampolines, an in-ground Tumble Trak, a large loose foam pit, all Olympic apparatus, and a dedicated GymBugs area for children ages 12 months to 5 years with equipment specifically designed for small children. RRVA offers Junior Olympic Women’s Gymnastics, Junior Olympic Men’s Gymnastics, USAG Xcel, Preschool Gymnastics, Recreational Gymnastics, Trampoline and Tumbling, and Ninja Warrior classes — one of the most comprehensively programmed athletics organizations in the upper Midwest.

THE GYM

The Red River Valley Athletics facility at 1602 32nd Avenue South measures 26,000 square feet and includes a regulation competition floor, cheer floor, two in-ground trampolines, in-ground Tumble Trak, large foam pit, all Olympic apparatus, and a dedicated GymBugs area. The gym operates Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:30 AM to noon. Open gym and birthday party bookings are available throughout the year.

PROGRAMS

GymBugs, Preschool, and Recreational Gymnastics

The dedicated GymBugs area with child-specific equipment serves children from 12 months, with preschool classes from age 3 and recreational gymnastics for school-age athletes from age 5 through 16. Boys and girls recreational programs run alongside the Junior Olympic and Xcel competitive tracks.

Junior Olympic, Xcel, Cheer, Tumbling, and Ninja

Junior Olympic Women’s and Men’s Gymnastics, USAG Xcel, All Star and recreational cheer, Trampoline and Tumbling, and Ninja Warrior classes give Grand Forks-area families one of the broadest athletic programming menus of any gymnastics facility in the Dakotas.
