Tongue River Twisters Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

Tongue River Twisters Gymnastics is a 14,000-square-foot gymnastics facility and educational preschool serving Sheridan and the surrounding northern Wyoming communities. Founded in 2017 by owner Carrie Raymond, the gym has quickly grown into one of Wyoming’s most active gymnastics programs. TR Twisters offers recreational and competitive gymnastics for ages 18 months through adult, at all abilities and experience levels, with a philosophy of creating a positive, safe, and fun environment for kids to learn, exercise, and grow.

The gym regularly hosts its own annual invitational competition and has participated at the Wyoming State Gymnastics Championships each season. Located at 2945 West 5th Street in Sheridan, TR Twisters serves the Big Horn Basin area and has become a community anchor for youth athletics in Sheridan County.

THE GYM

The 14,000-square-foot facility includes a full complement of gymnastics apparatus and a dedicated preschool program space. The gym’s educational preschool offers everything needed to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond, taught by experienced instructors in a fun and active learning environment. TR Twisters is unusual among gymnastics clubs in combining a licensed preschool program with full recreational and competitive gymnastics training under one roof.

The competitive team, known as the Tongue River Twisters, travels to meets throughout Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. The gym places equal emphasis on community connection — hosting birthday parties, open gym events, and summer camps — as it does on competitive excellence.

PROGRAMS

Tiny Tots / Parent-Child (Ages 18 Months–3)

Parent-and-child gymnastics introduces very young athletes to movement, gymnastics shapes, and basic equipment in a playful, nurturing environment. Classes build early motor skills and body awareness alongside a caregiver.

Preschool Program

TR Twisters operates a licensed preschool program designed to develop academic readiness, social skills, and physical literacy. The active preschool environment incorporates gymnastics movement throughout the learning day.

Recreational Gymnastics

Classes for children and adults at all skill levels cover tumbling, beam, bars, and vault. The gym welcomes beginners through advanced students and tailors progressions to each athlete’s development pace.

Competitive Team

The TR Twisters competitive team competes in USAG levels and Xcel divisions throughout the season. Gymnasts who demonstrate requisite skills are invited to try out for the team, which has competed at the Wyoming State Championships each year since the gym’s founding.

Camps and Parties

TR Twisters hosts seasonal gymnastics camps, birthday parties, and Kids Night Out events. Summer camps offer week-long gymnastics immersion experiences for all ages and skill levels.
