Lone Mountain Gymnastics & Swim School

OVERVIEW

Lone Mountain Gymnastics and Swim School is Bozeman’s most comprehensive youth movement and athletics program, operating from two locations and serving the greater Gallatin Valley with gymnastics, swimming, dance, ninja, and an active learning preschool. The main facility at 1237 North Rouse Avenue houses the recreational gymnastics program, swim school, and Mindbenders Preschool — an active learning preschool that integrates movement as a core component of early childhood education. The competitive girls’ team, ninja classes, and dance programs are housed at the second location at 2216 Boothill Court. Together, the two facilities provide one of the most expansive and diverse youth activity programs in all of Montana, with programming for children from infancy through the teen years across multiple disciplines. Lone Mountain’s motto — “Fun for Life!” and “Being here and Go Anywhere” — captures the dual spirit of a program that fosters genuine joy in the gym while building the skills and confidence that serve students throughout their lives.

Lone Mountain Gymnastics is a USAG Montana member club competing at the state, regional, and national levels. The gym’s participation in USAG Region 2 High Tech camps reflects the competitive team’s national-level aspirations, and Lone Mountain’s coaching staff includes dedicated gymnastics directors whose careers are built around developing athletes from their first preschool class through the competitive team. The gym also hosts the Dynamite Dads event — a beloved community tradition that brings fathers into the gym to experience the sport alongside their children — reflecting Lone Mountain’s commitment to family involvement across its entire program.

THE GYM

The North Rouse Avenue main facility includes a full gymnastics floor, a heated swimming pool maintained at 88 degrees with a shallow entry for all swim ability levels, and a vibrant, colorfully designed preschool environment. The 2216 Boothill Court competitive location provides a dedicated training environment for the girls’ competitive team alongside the ninja and dance programs. Lone Mountain also offers seasonal summer camps including KidVentures, Campapalooza (with afternoon swimming), Trampoline Camp, and Combo Camp, making it one of Bozeman’s most popular summer activity providers.

PROGRAMS

Mindbenders Active Learning Preschool

Mindbenders is Lone Mountain’s on-site active learning preschool, integrating movement-based education into the early childhood curriculum. The program provides a distinctive early learning environment that combines academic foundations with the physical activity and embodied learning that gymnastics and movement arts naturally provide.

Recreational Gymnastics

Classes for girls and boys advance from preschool through advanced recreational levels covering all major gymnastics events, with Lone Mountain’s signature warm, encouraging coaching culture guiding every student’s development from their very first class.

Swim School

Swimming lessons for children of all ages in a heated, 88-degree pool with a shallow entry provide a safe, comfortable learning environment for new swimmers. Monthly instructor rotation ensures students benefit from multiple coaching perspectives throughout their swimming progression.

Ninja and Dance

Ninja classes at the Boothill Court location provide an obstacle-course athletics track alongside the main gymnastics program. Dance classes develop movement artistry through an age-appropriate curriculum.

Competitive Gymnastics Team

The Lone Mountain competitive team trains at the Boothill Court location and competes in USAG Montana-sanctioned events, participating in Region 2 High Tech camps and developing athletes from the Xcel program through the Junior Olympic competitive levels.
