Miyagi Gymnastics Academy

OVERVIEW

Miyagi Gymnastics Academy is a gymnastics center in Auburn, California, offering programs for boys and girls from 6 months old through the competitive levels. Located at 3116 Olympic Way, the gym is equipped with a full-length tumble trampoline, a 40×40 foot gymnastics floor exercise, a 28×52 foot floating dance floor, a carpet-bonded foam floor, and a state-of-the-art foam pit. Miyagi’s teaching approach emphasizes fundamental motor skills delivered progressively and in an age-appropriate way, with a belief that skills learned in the gym extend far beyond the facility into the playground, classroom, and life.

The gym’s USAG competitive team has produced some of Placer County’s most accomplished youth gymnasts and is active throughout the NorCal competitive season. Coaches are praised by families for being dedicated, caring, and skilled at making gymnastics both challenging and fun for every athlete.

THE GYM

The Olympic Way facility in Auburn provides a high-quality training environment with equipment specifically designed for both recreational and competitive use. The state-of-the-art foam pit and well-maintained apparatus set Miyagi apart as a technically serious training facility that still maintains a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. The gym is a NorCal member competing in the regional Junior Olympic and Xcel circuits.

PROGRAMS

Infant and Toddler Classes

Classes begin at 6 months, with a focus on movement exploration and age-appropriate gymnastics introduction in a safe group setting. These early classes build motor development foundations that progress naturally into the preschool and recreational class tracks.

Recreational and Pre-Team Classes

Preschool and school-age classes are available for children 3 through 17, with skill-based progressions through multiple levels. A Pre-Team development pathway leads motivated athletes into the competitive program.

Competitive Team

The USAG competitive team competes at NorCal-level events in both the Junior Olympic and Xcel programs. Open gym sessions are available on Thursday mornings for toddlers and are a popular community offering for young families in the Auburn area.
