Black Diamond Kids Center

OVERVIEW

Black Diamond Kids Center has been a cornerstone of youth athletics in Brentwood since 1998, providing gymnastics, dance, tumbling, ninja, and educational preschool programs for children and families throughout Brentwood, Oakley, Discovery Bay, and the surrounding East Bay communities. Founded with a mission to help children and teens succeed in life by developing healthy self-esteem in a positive and safe learning atmosphere, Black Diamond has grown into one of the most comprehensive youth activity centers in Contra Costa County.

The gym serves children from walking age through 18 years, offering a wide range of programs under one roof. Its NorCal-affiliated competitive gymnastics team competes throughout the regional circuit, while recreational programs, a licensed preschool, and ninja classes round out one of the most diverse youth activity offerings in the East Bay.

THE GYM

Located at 2015 Elkins Way in Brentwood, the facility combines gymnastics training space, a preschool classroom wing, dance studio, and ninja obstacle course in a single complex. The gym has built a loyal following over nearly three decades, with thousands of satisfied families in the Brentwood and Oakley area who have made Black Diamond their go-to destination for youth sports and early childhood programs. The competitive gymnastics team is a NorCal member competing in the Junior Olympic and Xcel programs.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Parent-and-Me Gymnastics

Little Diamonds Preschool provides a licensed early childhood education program alongside parent-and-me gymnastics classes. Young children from walking age through preschool can explore gymnastics in a nurturing, structured environment designed specifically for their developmental stage.

Recreational and Boys Gymnastics

Girls and boys recreational gymnastics classes are available at multiple levels for school-age athletes, with a curriculum covering all major gymnastics events. Boys’ gymnastics classes teach the six men’s Olympic events and are available alongside the girls’ program on a regular weekly schedule.

Competitive Team, Ninja, Dance, and Tumbling

The competitive team competes in NorCal-sanctioned events, with athletes progressing from recreational classes into the team through a structured evaluation process. Dragon Ninja classes bring parkour-style obstacle training to the gym, while dance and tumbling classes serve athletes seeking additional movement disciplines alongside gymnastics.

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
