Compass Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

Compass Gymnastics is South San Diego County’s premier gymnastics center, operating from a 16,000-square-foot facility at 2390 Boswell Road in the Eastlake community of Chula Vista. Locally owned and operated, Compass Gymnastics serves families in Chula Vista, Otay Ranch, Eastlake, Bonita, National City, and all of South County with recreational gymnastics, tumbling, ninja, and a competitive team program that runs from preschool through Level 10. The gym’s name reflects its founding philosophy: that gymnastics can serve as a compass to help children find their way and follow their dreams — providing not just athletic skills but the life skills of hard work, goal setting, resilience, and overcoming challenges that serve students long after their gymnastics days are over.

Compass Gymnastics is a SoCal member club and USA Gymnastics member. The 16,000-square-foot facility is fully equipped to meet the needs of gymnasts and ninjas of all ages, and the coaching staff is praised by families as knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely passionate about helping kids grow and learn in a safe, fun, family environment. Free 15-minute assessments are available for new students with prior gymnastics experience to ensure proper class placement.

THE GYM

The Boswell Road facility in Eastlake is a large, modern gymnastics and ninja center with top-notch equipment updated regularly to maintain a first-class training environment. The gym is described by families throughout South County as a local hidden gem — a place where children gain real confidence and coaches design creative, engaging class content that changes week to week. Open registration allows new students to start anytime, and the gym’s flat-rate monthly tuition structure provides transparent, predictable pricing for families.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Ninja Monkey Classes

Co-ed preschool gymnastics for ages 18 months and up introduces the youngest students to movement, coordination, and gymnastics fundamentals. Ninja Monkey classes provide an obstacle-course-style athletic training program for boys and girls alongside the standard gymnastics curriculum.

Recreational Gymnastics

Girls’ and boys’ recreational classes progress through the Navigators and Level system from beginner fundamentals through the advanced pre-team level, covering vault, bars, beam, and floor in skill-based, age-appropriate class groups.

Competitive Team

Compass Gymnastics fields a competitive team that competes in SoCal-sanctioned events from pre-team through Level 10, with a coaching staff recognized as some of the very best in San Diego County. Team placement is by invitation following recreational program development and staff evaluation.
