Profile
OVERVIEW
New Hope Gymnastics has been a cornerstone of Orange County gymnastics since 1984, operating from one of the most historically significant gymnastics facilities in Southern California. Located at 17270 Newhope Street in Fountain Valley within the Los Caballeros Sports Village, the 17,500-square-foot building was originally designed as the official training center for the 1984 U.S. Olympic women’s volleyball team. The Olympic rings, star-in-motion, and flags from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games are still displayed as permanent memorabilia inside the facility — a daily reminder to every student of the facility’s extraordinary Olympic heritage. New Hope Academy acquired the building in 1984, and with its 40-foot high ceiling, wooden floors, and state-of-the-art men’s and women’s Olympic gymnastics apparatus, it remains one of the premier gymnastics training environments in Orange County.
New Hope Gymnastics is a SoCal member club, USA Gymnastics member, and holds an A+ BBB rating with 41 years in business. The gym’s motto — “Developing the Youth of Today for the Hope of Tomorrow” — reflects a coaching philosophy built on positive instruction, genuine care for each student, and creating a community where every child feels at home. The gym also offers therapeutic gymnastics services for children with special needs.
THE GYM
The Los Caballeros Sports Village facility on Newhope Street is a singular gymnastics training environment. The 17,500-square-foot space features a 40-foot ceiling, hardwood floors, state-of-the-art Olympic apparatus for both men’s and women’s programs, and a comfortable padded theater-style seating viewing area for parents. The gym has continuously upgraded its apparatus since 1984, keeping the facility on the cutting edge of men’s and women’s recreational and competitive training. Saturday Open Gym provides an additional community resource for families outside of regular class hours. The gym is wheelchair accessible.
PROGRAMS
Preschool and Recreational Gymnastics
Classes begin in the preschool years with co-ed early movement programs, progressing through girls’ and boys’ recreational levels through the teen years. Coaches Neil and Kelly lead the preschool program with particular distinction. Adult gymnastics classes are available, making New Hope one of the few OC gyms to maintain a dedicated adult program. Free trial lessons are offered for new students.
Boys’ Academy
A dedicated Boys’ Academy program provides a structured gymnastics pathway for boys interested in developing skills at a focused pace, serving as both a recreational track and a stepping stone toward the competitive team.
Competitive Team
New Hope’s competitive teams compete in SoCal-sanctioned events. The gym’s long history and high-quality coaching environment have produced competitive athletes across multiple levels of the Junior Olympic and Xcel programs.
Therapeutic Gymnastics
New Hope offers gymnastics instruction designed specifically for children with autism and other special needs, using gymnastics as both a physical development tool and a therapeutic modality. This program reflects the gym’s commitment to serving the full spectrum of the community it calls home.
