OVERVIEW

Peninsula Gymnastics’ San Carlos location at 1171 Laurel Street serves families in San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood City, and the surrounding mid-Peninsula communities with the same high-quality gymnastics instruction as the San Mateo flagship. Founded in 1995 and operating under the leadership of co-founders Mikhail Margulis, Anna Margulis, and Mark Kachko, Peninsula Gymnastics has been a trusted community gymnastics program for three decades. The San Carlos location is situated just a couple of blocks from downtown San Carlos, making it easily walkable from the surrounding neighborhood.

The San Carlos facility is fully equipped with a gymnastics floor, in-ground foam pit, tumble track, vault station, beam station, bar station, steel rings, and a climbing wall. All students are invited to try their first class free before enrolling, reflecting Peninsula Gymnastics’ welcoming, community-centered approach.

THE GYM

The 1171 Laurel Street facility is a well-equipped gymnastics center in the heart of downtown San Carlos, providing both preschool and school-age classes alongside specialized programs for competitive athletes. The gym offers a free first trial class for all new students and a welcoming environment for families at every skill level. Peninsula Gymnastics coaches are USA Gymnastics certified, CPR trained, first aid certified, and background screened.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Recreational Classes

Classes progress through skill-based levels for preschool through teen athletes. Boys’ and girls’ class tracks are offered separately, with each student advancing at their own pace under the guidance of experienced coaching staff. Birthday parties, seasonal camps, and Parents Night Out events are offered throughout the year.

Competitive Team

The competitive program operates in coordination with the San Mateo location, with athletes from both facilities competing in NorCal Junior Olympic and Xcel events throughout the regional season.
