Marin Elite Gymnastics Academy

OVERVIEW

Marin Elite Gymnastics Academy, known throughout the community as MEGA, has been a cornerstone of gymnastics in Marin County for more than four decades. Located in San Rafael, MEGA provides a fully equipped facility offering all Olympic events along with trampoline, tumble track, and two double mini trampolines. The gym serves athletes from preschool age through the elite competitive level, bringing a high standard of coaching and a welcoming atmosphere to every class.

MEGA’s mission centers on promoting excellence in every aspect of the sport while bringing out the best in each individual who walks through the door. Whether a child is taking their first tumbling class or training for regional championships, the staff at MEGA is committed to helping every gymnast reach their potential in a supportive and challenging environment.

THE GYM

The San Rafael facility has served Marin County families for over 40 years and features a comprehensive setup with equipment for all Olympic artistic events. The gym includes a trampoline, tumble track, and two double mini trampolines, making it one of the most fully equipped gymnastics facilities in Marin County. Coaches hold USA Gymnastics certification, and the gym is a member of USA Gymnastics and NorCal.

MEGA has built a reputation in the Bay Area gymnastics community for producing athletes who go on to compete at the state, regional, and national level. The gym’s developmental pathways include a pre-team program called Hot Shots and Team Training, allowing younger gymnasts to work toward competitive readiness before joining the full team.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Recreational Classes

MEGA offers gymnastics for children starting at age one. Preschool classes focus on foundational movement, coordination, and building comfort on gymnastics equipment. Recreational levels progress from Level 1 through Level 4, giving school-age athletes a clear skill pathway whether or not they pursue competition.

Competitive Teams

The competitive program at MEGA includes Junior Olympic Artistic Women’s gymnastics at Levels 3 through 10, Xcel teams at multiple levels, and a co-ed Trampoline team. Athletes train using USA Gymnastics rules and policies, competing in local and regional events that qualify toward state, regional, and national championships. Students interested in joining the team may be invited into the developmental program or evaluated by a team coach if transferring from another gym.
