Twisters Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

Twisters Gymnastics is a family-owned community gymnastics school in Santa Clara co-owned by Allan and Ericka Fusilero, both former NCAA Division I gymnasts who competed at UC Berkeley and UC Davis respectively. Ericka is a member of the UC Davis Athletic Hall of Fame, and Allan was part of the Cal Bears’ 1997 and 1998 NCAA Championship teams. Both have been honored as Compulsory Coach of the Year by their peers in California. Together they built Twisters in 2006 around a belief that youth sports had gotten out of control, and a commitment to going back to basics — helping kids experience the positive benefits of gymnastics in a structured, educational setting.

Located at 2800 Bowers Avenue in Santa Clara, Twisters serves children ages 15 months through 18 years with gymnastics classes, competitive team programs, birthday parties, open play, and summer camps. The gym is a proud member of the Character Counts Coalition (CCC), reflecting its belief that building good character is just as important as building gymnastics skills.

THE GYM

The Bowers Avenue facility is a well-equipped gymnastics and multi-sport center in the heart of Santa Clara. The gym operates on a curriculum rooted in the coaches’ own experience competing at the highest collegiate levels, with an emphasis on proper technique, progressive skill development, and a fun and supportive atmosphere. Twisters fields competitive teams that have qualified athletes to USAG Level 9 Western National Championships, and the program participates in USA Gymnastics Developmental, Xcel, and NGA competition formats.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Parent-and-Tot Classes

Classes begin at 15 months with parent-participation gymnastics that focuses on listening skills, body awareness, and social development through movement. Preschool-level classes progress through age five with structured gymnastics activities designed to build a confident foundation for school-age instruction.

Recreational and Boys Gymnastics

School-age classes are offered for girls and boys at multiple levels, covering the fundamental gymnastics events and progressing through skill-based curriculum aligned with USA Gymnastics standards. After-school pickup from local Santa Clara schools is available as an additional service.

Competitive Team

The Twisters competitive program has qualified athletes to Level 9 Western National Championships and competes in USAG Developmental, Xcel, and NGA formats. The coaching philosophy emphasizes character development alongside athletic excellence.

Monday through Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Sunday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
