Flight School Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

Flight School Gymnastics was founded in Torrance in 2013 to meet the growing demand for high-quality gymnastics instruction in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. Located at 503 Van Ness Avenue in Torrance, the gym offers recreational gymnastics for children ages 18 months through 18 years, along with a competitive team program covering USA Gymnastics Levels 3 through 10 and Xcel. The gym’s mission is to give every child the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of gymnastics through a program designed to help students develop from beginning-level gymnastics all the way through competitive team, with a coaching philosophy centered on respect, encouragement, and genuine care for every athlete.

Flight School Gymnastics is a SoCal member club and USA Gymnastics member. All coaches are USAG Safety Certified, SafeSport certified, and have passed background checks, and a CPR-certified instructor is always on site. The gym has produced State, Regional, and National Champions and sent numerous athletes to successful NCAA programs. Families in Torrance, Redondo Beach, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Carson, and the broader South Bay have found in Flight School a program that combines genuine technical excellence with a coaching culture built on kindness and mutual respect.

THE GYM

The Van Ness Avenue facility is a well-equipped South Bay gymnastics center with parking and convenient access for families throughout the Torrance and broader South Bay area. The gym operates a full schedule Monday through Saturday, with the competitive team program benefiting from the same coaching staff and apparatus used for the recreational program. The coaches at Flight School are nationally recognized in the gymnastics community and bring both technical credibility and genuine enthusiasm to every class.

PROGRAMS

Preschool and Recreational Academy

Classes begin at 18 months with Parent and Me, progressing through recreational levels for girls and boys including beginner, intermediate, and advanced tracks. The Flips and Tricks class provides a non-competitive gymnastics skills track for students who want to develop specific skills outside the standard academy curriculum.

Competitive Team

The Flight School competitive team competes in USA Gymnastics Levels 3 through 10 and Xcel, with a coaching staff that has produced State, Regional, and National Champions and helped multiple athletes earn NCAA positions. The team program covers all Olympic gymnastics events with a positive, athlete-first coaching approach that has earned Flight School its reputation as one of the South Bay’s premier competitive programs.

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
