Profile
OVERVIEW
American Gold Gymnastics is located at 2001 17th Avenue South in Fargo, a non-profit organization founded in 1983 and now in its fifth decade of serving the Fargo-Moorhead community as the premier gymnastics program in the Red River Valley. The mission that launched the program in 1983 remains unchanged: to encourage and teach children to believe in themselves through quality gymnastics instruction. Today that mission reaches over 1,500 athletes annually across the recreational, competitive, and acrobatics programs at the 17th Avenue South facility, making American Gold one of the largest gymnastics programs in the Dakotas and upper Midwest. The gym has held USA Gymnastics membership since 2000 and has hosted the Special Olympics Gymnastics Summer Games since 1987 — a 35-plus-year commitment to inclusive athletics that reflects the program’s values as deeply as its competitive achievements.
American Gold is also home to the Fargo North, Fargo South, and Fargo Davies high school gymnastics team programs, giving it a unique dual role as both a club program and the training home for three of Fargo’s major public high school gymnastics teams. The FM Acro Team, the AGG Competitive Team, and the Recreational Class program together form one of the most comprehensive gymnastics organizations in North Dakota, with the FM Acro Team representing one of the only dedicated acrobatics programs in the state. Vision: to be a premiere provider of youth gymnastics programs in the Upper Midwest.
THE GYM
The American Gold Gymnastics facility at 2001 17th Avenue South is a full-scale gymnastics training center serving over 1,500 athletes across recreational, acrobatic, and competitive programs. The gym operates Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Classes run continuously from month to month from September through May, with summer classes beginning in early June — enrollment is open year-round and children can start at any time during the school year session.
PROGRAMS
Recreational Classes (Ages 18 Months – 18 Years)
American Gold offers recreational gymnastics instruction for girls and boys from 18 months through 18 years at all skill levels, with the program’s 40-plus years of coaching experience informing every class from the youngest parent-tot groups through advanced recreational levels. Continuous enrollment allows families to start any time during the school year session without waiting for a session break.
AGG Competitive Team and FM Acro Team
The AGG Competitive Team competes within the USAG upper Midwest region, developing athletes from recreational entry through optional-level competition. The FM Acro Team is one of the few dedicated acrobatics competitive programs in the Dakotas, representing a commitment to the full breadth of the gymnastics disciplines that distinguishes American Gold from single-discipline programs.
Fargo High School Programs and Special Olympics
American Gold serves as training home for the Fargo North, Fargo South, and Fargo Davies high school gymnastics teams, and has hosted the Special Olympics Gymnastics Summer Games continuously since 1987 — making it one of the longest-running Special Olympics gymnastics hosts in the region.
