OVERVIEW

Chasing Gravity Activity Center is Airway Heights’ comprehensive gymnastics, dance, tumbling, trampoline, cheer, and Ninja facility, offering programming for children from 18 months through adult in the greater Spokane metropolitan area. Founded with a commitment to providing a fun and safe environment for people of all ages and abilities, Chasing Gravity serves the west Spokane and Airway Heights community with a genuinely welcoming and inclusive approach to youth athletics and activity.

In addition to its athletic programming, Chasing Gravity operates Little Explorers, an academic preschool that combines early childhood learning with movement-based enrichment, making it one of the most comprehensive child development activity centers in the Spokane area.

THE GYM

Chasing Gravity Activity Center operates at 12423 W 13th Avenue in Airway Heights, Washington, offering a large and versatile facility designed to support a wide range of athletic and educational programming. The facility includes two 400 square foot dance studios with mirrors and portable barres, dedicated gymnastics areas with age-appropriate apparatus, and space for Ninja obstacle course training that changes weekly to provide fresh challenges for participants.

Owner and program director Amy leads a coaching staff that is described as well-versed in focusing on each individual child and building a genuine sense of belonging. The gym emphasizes personal encouragement and positive reinforcement, creating an environment where children feel supported as they explore movement and develop new skills. Preschool Open Play sessions are offered regularly, giving parents and young children an opportunity for active and creative exploration on Chasing Gravity’s Preschool obstacle courses.

PROGRAMS AT THE GYM

Gymnastics Classes

Chasing Gravity offers gymnastics programs including Bouncers, a fun introductory class focused on core principles of the sport for children new to gymnastics, and Big Achievers, a structured two-days-per-week progressive program for girls that develops skills across all four women’s events with potential progression to the Xcel competitive team.

Ninja, Cheer, Dance, and Tumbling

Chasing Gravity offers Ninja classes featuring weekly-changing obstacle courses that build balance, core strength, agility, and climbing abilities. Cheer, dance including adult Hip Hop classes, and tumbling classes round out the activity center’s extensive programming offering for children and adults throughout the Airway Heights and Spokane area.

Adult Gymnastics and Open Gym

Chasing Gravity offers an adult gymnastics experience called FAB (Flips and Bengay), an open gym format directed by a coach that gives adults the opportunity to learn gymnastics or return to the sport after a break. Adult Hip Hop dance classes and Preschool Open Play sessions are also available on a regular drop-in basis.

Little Explorers Preschool

Chasing Gravity operates Little Explorers, an academic preschool that combines early childhood education with movement-based enrichment, providing a distinctive and developmentally comprehensive experience for young children in the Airway Heights area.
