Gymnastics East (Issaquah)

OVERVIEW

Gymnastics East Issaquah is the second location of the Greater Eastside’s longest-running gymnastics program, Gymnastics East, which has been serving families since 1979. Owned and operated by Kim Thomson, the Issaquah location brings the same philosophy, curriculum, and coaching standards that have made the Bellevue location one of the top-ranked gymnastics programs in Washington state to the downtown Issaquah community.

The Issaquah gym offers recreational gymnastics for children from parent-tot age through high school and is the Gymnastics East location where cheerleading classes are also offered, making it a comprehensive activity destination for families throughout Issaquah, Sammamish, and the surrounding communities.

THE GYM

Gymnastics East Issaquah operates at 1680 NW Mall Street Suite 1 in Issaquah, Washington, in a gymnastics facility that serves as a smaller complement to the main Bellevue gym. The facility offers the full Gymnastics East curriculum for recreational class programming, with a parent-friendly environment where families can watch their children progress through the gym’s progressive class structure.

The same USAG-certified coaching standards, dress code policies, and progressive curriculum used at the Bellevue location apply at Issaquah. Trial classes are available for new students on a space-available basis. All coaches at Gymnastics East are USAG certified and attend national workshops annually, ensuring a consistent and high-quality gymnastics education for every student at both locations.

PROGRAMS AT THE GYM

Parent-Tot and Preschool Gymnastics

Gymnastics East Issaquah offers parent-tot classes for children 18 months through 3 years and Tiny Tot preschool gymnastics for ages 3 through kindergarten. Classes introduce foundational gymnastics movements, balance, coordination, and social interaction in age-appropriate and encouraging settings using beam, bars, floor, and trampoline.

Recreational Gymnastics and Cheerleading

Gymnastics East Issaquah offers girls and boys recreational gymnastics classes for children 1st through 5th grade and high school girls. Cheerleading classes are also available exclusively at the Issaquah location, providing an additional athletic programming option for local families. All recreational classes are designed to build the foundational movement skills that support success in gymnastics and all other sports and activities.
