Mercy Gymnastics (Pearl Street Family YMCA)

OVERVIEW

Mercy Gymnastics is the USAG-affiliated gymnastics program operating within the Pearl Street Family YMCA in Tacoma, Washington. Owned by Candyce Chittenden, Mercy Gymnastics provides recreational and competitive gymnastics instruction for children and teens within one of Tacoma’s most comprehensive community wellness facilities. As a YMCA-based program, Mercy Gymnastics is supported by the full amenities and community infrastructure of the Pearl Street Family YMCA campus.

The Pearl Street Family YMCA serves the Tacoma community as a large, fully equipped wellness and recreation center featuring a climbing wall, indoor pool, fitness center, group exercise studios, youth programming, and the gymnastics facility where Mercy Gymnastics operates. Families participating in Mercy Gymnastics have access to the full YMCA campus and its extensive range of programs and services.

THE GYM

Mercy Gymnastics operates within the Pearl Street Family YMCA at 1002 S Pearl Street in Tacoma, Washington. The YMCA’s gymnastics facility is located in the East Building and supports both recreational class programming and competitive team training for Mercy Gymnastics students. A YMCA membership is required to participate in gymnastics classes.

The Pearl Street Family YMCA is one of the most comprehensive YMCA facilities in Pierce County, with the East Building housing gymnastics, gyms, cardio rooms, racquetball courts, child watch, a youth drop-in zone, a conference room, an indoor track, dance and group exercise studios, and a virtual and cycle studio. The West Building features an indoor pool with zero-entry access, a strength training room, and a climbing wall, giving Mercy Gymnastics families access to an exceptionally full-featured community center.

Recreational Gymnastics

Mercy Gymnastics offers recreational gymnastics classes for children and teens at various ages and skill levels within the YMCA setting. Classes are designed to develop foundational gymnastics skills, coordination, strength, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Monday through Friday: 5:00 AM to 9:30 PM (YMCA facility hours)
Saturday: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Sunday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Competitive Team and Birthday Parties

Mercy Gymnastics fields a competitive gymnastics team as a USAG member club, providing Tacoma-area athletes with access to competitive gymnastics programming within the YMCA setting. Birthday party packages are also available through the program, offering families an active and memorable celebration option within the Pearl Street Family YMCA facility.
