Valor Gymnastics

OVERVIEW

Valor Gymnastics is a recreational and competitive gymnastics program based in Cody, Wyoming, serving Park County and the greater Big Horn Basin area. Founded in 2020, Valor has grown rapidly into a program with over 27 competitive athletes across girls and boys programs. The gym made history in November 2024 by hosting the first home gymnastics meet in the Cody area in more than 20 years — the “Stars, Stripes, and Somersaults” invitational — drawing 78 athletes from four teams across Wyoming.

Valor competes in USAG Levels 2–8 and Xcel Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Platinum, traveling regularly to meets in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. The coaching team includes Katie Dallman, Shawn Johnson, Emily Young, and MacKenzie Frey, with Cali Holeman as assistant coach.

THE GYM

Valor Gymnastics operates in Cody and offers a full range of classes from tiny tots through competitive team. The gym’s recreational program is structured for all ages and ability levels, with emphasis on building confidence, strength, and fun through gymnastics progressions. The gym has a strong community identity in Cody, with family and local supporters regularly attending the club’s home meets.

The program includes a Homeschool Hour class offered during school hours on Mondays and Thursdays, providing a flexible option for homeschooling families seeking structured physical education in a gymnastics setting.

PROGRAMS

Giggle and Grow (Babies and Toddlers)

A parent-and-child interactive class designed for babies and toddlers that develops early motor skills, body awareness, and social engagement through structured play and guided gymnastics movement.

Beginner Gymnastics (Ages 5 and Under / Ages 5+)

Introductory recreational gymnastics introduces children to fundamentals on beam, bars, and floor in a fun, supportive environment. The program emphasizes coordination, strength, flexibility, and confidence-building at an age-appropriate pace.

Intermediate Gymnastics

For gymnasts who have mastered the basics, intermediate classes develop more challenging skills with refined technique and structured progressions on all four apparatus.

Homeschool Hour

Daytime gymnastics classes designed for homeschool families meet Mondays and Thursdays during school hours, offering structured instruction alongside an opportunity to meet other homeschool families.

Pre-Team

A structured bridge class for dedicated recreational gymnasts with strong skills who are interested in trying out for the competitive team in a future season. Pre-Team introduces training discipline and competitive expectations without competition pressure.

Competitive Team

Valor fields competitive teams in USAG Levels 2–8 and Xcel divisions for both girls and boys. The team competes across Wyoming and the Mountain West region, with athletes regularly qualifying for the Wyoming State Championships.
